Cataract Surgery: Emergence of New Technology vs Current and Prior Technology

OBJECTIVE: To educate attendees on the emergence of femtosecond assisted laser cataract surgery, to review current "phacodynamics", and understand the role of non-phaco extracapsular cataract surgery. In addition the economic challenges of ophthalmologists performing cataract surgery  and modern training of cataract surgeons will be reviewed.
